I would be lying if I said this quarantine has very drastically changed my life.
I’m quite the introvert, and I love my alone time. BUT, with that being said, I do have a split moment every few days where my psyche glitches. I get a little too much downtime, and my mind flips through its catalog of all the things I could stress about.
One thing I’ve started doing to bring myself back into my body, is making lists. My favorites are the kind that are on-going, where you’re cutting up a sweet potato for dinner, and you suddenly realize something you could add to said list.
Given the current circumstances, I’ve been thinking about things I want to do after quarantine is over, and the world goes back to normal. It gives me something to look forward to, so I thought I’d share my growing list with you all:
Have a fat ass brunch
White people love a brunch. I am no exception.
Talk shit with my best friend in person
I know this makes me sound like an awful person, but I promise we only do it to people who deserve it. Don’t pretend you don’t do it too.
Get a bunch of clothing tailored
I ordered quite a few things right before all this started, and since I’m approximately two feet tall, the pieces need a bit of help before they’re deemed wearable.
Go to the beach
The only place I ever truly feel like none of my problems can lay a finger on me is no longer open to the public. I can’t wait to jump into the water and shrivel up into a prune.
Walk through the streets of New York
One of my favorite things in the whole entire world is seeing the way New Yorkers change when it starts to get warmer outside. The coats come off, the smiles come out, the conversation increases, the fortune teller takes her place in Union Square.
Go to Target
Do we really need to an explanation for this one?
Take a Salt Drop class in person
Thanks to Instagram live workouts, I’ve learned that The Salt Drop is one of my new faves. I can’t wait to get the full experience in an actual class and tell the instructor how much I want to be his friend.
Make an appointment with a chiropractor
Something I put off doing for a long time. Something I regret putting off for a long time.
Take a trapeze yoga class
Both my spine and I really enjoy trapeze yoga. I love it so much, I made all my friends do it with me on my birthday. I dream of the day I can live out my circus performer fantasy, again.
Thrift
Do I scour Depop, The RealReal, and every other online vintage shop multiple times a day? Sure. But there’s something about the experience of physically flipping through endless racks of clothing that just gets me going.
Get my nails done
I ALWAYS have my nails done. I am not myself without a pristine gel manicure. Although there are no chips or breaks in sight, the length is getting a bit out of hand. I don’t know how much longer I can do this. Yesterday I very seriously considered buying all of the equipment necessary to become a nail tech.
Plan a trip
One of my favorite pastimes is looking through countless Airbnbs that I will probably never be able to grace with my presence. Last year around this time, I was starting to toy with the idea of going to London in August. This year, it’s hard to say what the state of August will look like.
So like I said, this is an on-going list, but alas, here you have its current state. I’d love to hear what you can’t wait to do once everyone finally listens to what the government is telling us to do, and this thing is contained.
Until then, we can dream.
